With the fascination and passion for both User Experience Design and How we humans learn, I came to the conclusion that it is possible to design a learning experience journey, by using the knowledge about how we learn and how we design. By using the UX methods I designed a way to design a learning experience. This are the 4 steps;

1. Mindmapping You bring knowledge from the past with you. To clear your head, you can use Mind mapping to clear your mind and put the things you know on paper. On the other hand you also can mind map with your user, to understand what their mental modal is about your topic.

2. Empathize Who are you designing for? No matter what experience you design, you need to be able to empathise. Even if you are familiar with the user, day in day out. It is good to have an interview and fill in the empathy map. You will state the; pains, gains, needs, feeling, etc

3. Context What are the elements we need to design a learning experience? Before you can start with designing the journey you need to know what constrains and possibilities you have. Using a the Learning Experience Canvas, can help you to get a better understanding what strategy you are going to follow. How to: workshop


4. Journey By starting with step 1 and 2, you have the pieces to design the journey, that will help you achieve the goal of the user….and yours. On the horizontal axis you set the stages and in the vertical axis you put the themes. Depending on the length of the journey it could be that you can have one big journey,  that will follow with small once.
